‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there. Now, we were going away for a few days, so the thought of planning a traditional ‘Réveillon’ was overwhelming. So I suggested we would follow a long-establisehd Jewish tradition and eat Chinese food for Christmas. The kids were confused, so I had to explain. Chives’ talkin’

For our first dinner during our Halifax getaway weekend, we decided to go to Chives, which was on a shortlist of recommendations from the Waffler nation. I had also heard good things about Chives Canadian Bistro, although had been warned that it could be a bit pricey.The restaurant was quite busy, which is normal for a Saturday night – thankfully, we were able to make online reservations for a late dinner date.
